Regular Season Round 15: Montreal - Calgary 74-77

Important game to mention about took place in Montreal. Fifth ranked Surge (8-7) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging 7th ranked Alliance (6-8) 77-74 on Wednesday evening. It was a good game for guard Stefan Smith (188-1999, college: St.John's, agency: Players Group) who led his team to a victory with 20 points and 6 rebounds. Power forward Simi Shittu (208-1999, college: Vanderbilt) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. American Ahmed Hill (196-1995, college: Virginia Tech) answered with 25 points and 8 rebounds and Haitian-Canadian guard Alain Louis (185-1998, college: Carleton) added 14 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Alliance. Surge moved-up to fourth place. Alliance at the other side keeps the seventh position with eight games lost. Surge will play against league's second-placed Sea Bears in Winnipeg in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Alliance will play on the road against Bandits (#9) in Langley and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
