Regular Season Round 10: Brampton - Edmonton 77-103

The game between closely ranked teams ended with fourth ranked Stingers' (5-5) road victory over 5th ranked Honey Badgers (5-5) in Hamilton 103-77 on Friday. Stingers forced 19 Honey Badgers turnovers and outrebounded them 46-31 including 33 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Honey Badgers' players. American forward Nick Hornsby (201-1995, college: Sacramento St.) notched a double-double by scoring 18 points, 15 rebounds and 8 assists to lead the effort and guard Isiah Osborne (196-1996, college: Carleton) supported him with 19 points. Even 20 points by American guard Christian Vital (188-1997, college: UConn) did not help to save the game for Honey Badgers. Forward Prince Oduro (203-1998, college: Detroit, agency: Octagon Europe) added 16 points and 7 rebounds for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Stingers moved-up to third place, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Honey Badgers. Stingers will meet Alliance (#8) in the next round where they are favorite. Honey Badgers will play against Blackjacks (#4) in Ottawa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
