Regular Season Round 8: Ottawa - Niagara 82-93

Very important is a home loss of third ranked Blackjacks (4-3) against seventh ranked River Lions (4-4) on Saturday night. Host Blackjacks were defeated by River Lions in Ottawa 93-82. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Khalil Ahmad (191-1996, college: CS Fullerton) who helped to win the game recording 19 points, 8 assists and 6 steals and Antonio Davis (190-1996, college: Mid-Continent) who added 17 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Sudanese-Australian forward Deng Adel (201-1997, college: Louisville, agency: Verus Management) responded with 14 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists and Jackson Rowe (201-1997, college: CS Fullerton) scored 19 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Five River Lions and four Blackjacks players scored in double figures. Blackjacks' coach tested ten players in this game, but that didn't help. River Lions moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Vancouver and Brampton. Blackjacks at the other side keep the third position with three games lost. They share it with Edmonton. River Lions will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Blackjacks will play at home against Alliance and hope to get back on the winning track.
