Regular Season Round 8: Edmonton - Montreal 92-68

No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Stingers (4-3) crushed 8th ranked Alliance (3-6) in Edmonton 92-68 on Saturday. Stingers looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 5 passes made by Alliance's players. The winners were led by American forward Nick Hornsby (201-1995, college: Sacramento St.) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 11 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists and South Sudanese-Canadian Aher Uguak (201-1998, college: Loyola, IL) supported him with 16 points and 4 assists. Five Stingers players scored in double figures. Even 17 points by American Ahmed Hill (196-1995, college: Virginia Tech) did not help to save the game for Alliance. Forward Mamadou Gueye (201-1993, college: Alberta) added 8 points and 12 rebounds for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Stingers have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Ottawa. Loser Alliance dropped to the ninth position with six games lost. Stingers will meet Shooting Stars (#8) in the next round where they are favorite. Alliance will play against Blackjacks in Ottawa and hope to secure a win.
