Regular Season Round 6: Winnipeg - Edmonton 68-97

The most important game in the last round took place in Winnipeg between second ranked Sea Bears (4-2) and tenth ranked Stingers (2-3) on Monday night. Sea Bears were crushed by Stingers at home 97-68. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Sea Bears. Stingers forced 20 Sea Bears turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The best player for the winners was Brody Clarke (203-1996, college: Alberta) who scored 21 points and 8 rebounds. American forward Nick Hornsby (201-1995, college: Sacramento St.) chipped in 18 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Teddy Allen (198-1998, college: NM State) who recorded 27 points and 5 rebounds and Nigerian-American swingman EJ Anosike (201-1998, college: CS Fullerton) added 12 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Stingers moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Saskatchewan. Sea Bears at the other side keep the second position with two games lost. They share it with Brampton and Ottawa. Stingers is looking forward to face Rattlers (#7) in Saskatoon in the next round. Sea Bears will play at home against the league's second-placed Honey Badgers (#2) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
