Regular Season Round 5: Edmonton - Ottawa 85-91

Very predictable result in Edmonton where fourth ranked Blackjacks (4-2) defeated 9th ranked Stingers (1-3) 91-85 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was Sudanese-Australian forward Deng Adel (201-1997, college: Louisville, agency: Verus Management) who scored 20 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists. Canadian-Jamaican guard Kadre Gray (186-1997, college: Laurentian) chipped in 15 points. American forward Nick Hornsby (201-1995, college: Sacramento St.) produced 18 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and Saint Lucian-Canadian guard Adika Peter-McNeilly (192-1993, college: TMU) added 15 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Blackjacks moved-up to third place, which they share with Brampton. Loser Stingers keep the ninth position with three games lost. Blackjacks will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Stingers will play against the league's second-placed Sea Bears (#2) in Winnipeg and hope to win that game.
