Regular Season Round 4: Vancouver - Winnipeg 103-106
Date: June 6, 2023
Important game to mention about took place in Langley. Third ranked Sea Bears (4-1) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging 10th ranked Bandits (2-4) 106-103 on Tuesday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. Sea Bears made 16-of-21 charity shots (76.2 percent) during the game. The winners were led by American guard Teddy Allen (198-1998, college: NM State) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 22 points, 15 rebounds and 6 assists and Nigerian-American swingman EJ Anosike (201-1998, college: CS Fullerton) supported him with 22 points. Sea Bears' coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Even a double-double of 30 points and 11 rebounds by Austrian-Georgian forward Giorgi Bezhanishvili (206-1998, college: Illinois) did not help to save the game for Bandits. Guard Malcolm Duvivier (190-1995, college: Akron) added 17 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists for lost side. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Sea Bears have a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Calgary. Bandits at the other side dropped to the seventh place with four games lost. They share the position with Niagara. Sea Bears will play against Rattlers (#5) in Saskatoon in the next round. Bandits will play on the road against River Lions in Niagara and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
