Regular Season Round 3: Vancouver - Calgary 84-81

Important game to mention about took place in Langley. Bandits (1-2) saved a 3-point victory at home edging Surge (3-1) 84-81 on Saturday evening. They outrebounded Surge 53-41 including 39 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for American forward Nick Ward (203-1997, college: Michigan St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 19 points and 9 rebounds. Brazilian-Canadian point guard Diego Maffia (185-2001, college: Victoria) helped adding 15 points and 11 assists. The best for the losing side was power forward Simi Shittu (208-1999, college: Vanderbilt) with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 17 rebounds and American guard Admon Gilder (193-1995, college: Gonzaga) scored 17 points. Five Bandits and four Surge players scored in double figures. Surge's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Bandits will play against Sea Bears (#4) in Winnipeg in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Surge will have a break next round.
