Regular Season Round 9: Thunder - Panthers 101-94

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Panthers (4-2) in Lancaster on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by Thunder (5-1) 101-94. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Panthers. It was a key game for the top position in the league. They outrebounded Panthers 61-38 including a 42-27 advantage in defensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Thunder made 7 blocks. It was a good game for guard Jaetuan Williams (185-1996) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 17 rebounds and 6 assists. Guard Braden Young (185) contributed with 20 points and 7 assists for the winners. Point guard Jason Williams (183) answered with 29 points and point guard Antonio Burns (173) added 12 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Panthers. Five Thunder and four Panthers players scored in double figures. Thunder maintains first place with 5-1 record which they share with defeated Panthers. Panthers at the other side still keep top position with two games lost. Thunder are looking forward to face Dream (#4) in Holland in the next round. Panthers will play on the road against Hurricanes in Fredonia and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
