Regular Season Round 14: Ottawa - Guelph 71-96

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 5th ranked Ottawa (5-7) was crushed at home by sixth ranked Guelph (4-9) 96-71. Guelph players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. American guard Michael Bryson (193-94, college: UCSB) notched 25 points and 8 rebounds to lead the effort and Nigerian-Canadian guard Olumuyiwa Famutimi (196-84, college: Arkansas) supported him with 22 points and 5 rebounds. Even 14 points and 7 rebounds by forward Dominique Archie (201-87, college: S.Carolina) did not help to save the game for Ottawa. Guard Kadre Gray (186-97, college: Laurentian, agency: Dynamics Global Management) added 10 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Guelph maintains sixth position with 4-9 record. Ottawa at the other side keeps the fifth place with seven games lost. Guelph will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Ottawa will play again on the road against Guelph (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
