Regular Season Round 9: Hamilton - Edmonton 63-99

An exciting game was played in Hamilton. First ranked Edmonton faced second-best Hamilton. Guests from Edmonton (7-1) smashed host Hamilton (6-3) 99-63. Edmonton forced 19 Hamilton turnovers and outrebounded them 43-29 including 17 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American guard Xavier Moon (188-95, college: Morehead St.) stepped up and scored 34 points (!!!), 8 rebounds, 7 assists and 8 steals for the winners and his fellow American import forward Marlon Johnson (208-94, college: NMHU) chipped in 16 points and 10 rebounds. Four Edmonton players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was guard Lindell Wigginton (185-98, college: Iowa St.) with 12 points and 4 assists and forward Thomas Kennedy (206-0) scored 11 points. Hamilton's coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Edmonton have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 7-1 record. Loser Hamilton keeps the second position with three games lost. Edmonton will meet Guelph (#6) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Hamilton will play against Ottawa (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
