Regular Season Round 8: Guelph - Ottawa 90-87

The most exciting game of round 8 in the CEBL took place in Guelph. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 4th ranked Ottawa (3-4) to sixth ranked Guelph (1-5) 90-87 on Monday evening. Guelph dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Ottawa's 30. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Anthony Barber (188-94, college: NC State) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 6 assists and the other American import power forward Chad Brown (207-96, college: UCF) who added 14 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Brown is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Guelph's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American forward Nick Ward (203-97, college: Michigan St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds and guard Kadre Gray (186-97, college: Laurentian, agency: Interperformances) scored 16 points and 5 assists. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Guelph maintains sixth position with 1-5 record. Ottawa at the other side keeps the fourth place with four games lost. Guelph are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Saskatchewan (#7) in Saskatoon in the next round. Ottawa will play at home against the league's leader Edmonton and is hoping to win this game.
