The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Hamilton as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Hamilton edged 5th ranked Niagara at home 78-76. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Niagara. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Hamilton made 7 blocks. Guard Lindell Wigginton (185-98, college: Iowa St.) fired 25 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Rwandan-Canadian guard Jean-Victor Mukama (203-94, college: Ryerson) chipped in 16 points and 6 rebounds. American forward Xavier Sneed (196-97, college: Kansas St.) produced 20 points and 5 rebounds and the other American import forward Javin DeLaurier (208-98, college: Duke) added 15 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four Niagara players scored in double figures. Hamilton (6-1) have an impressive series of six victories in a row. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Niagara at the other side keeps the fifth place with four games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
