Regular Season Round 5: Hamilton - Guelph 101-89

Bottom-ranked Guelph (0-3) is still winless. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they lost on the road their third consecutive match to second ranked Hamilton (4-1) 101-89. Hamilton shot the lights out from three nailing 12 long-distance shots on high 57.1 percentage. Guelph was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. American guard Trevon Duval (190-98, college: Duke) nailed 21 points and 6 assists for the winning side and guard Lindell Wigginton (185-98, college: Iowa St.) accounted for 22 points and 6 assists. American point guard Anthony Barber (188-94, college: NC State) came up with 19 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and forward Justin Jackson (201-97, college: Maryland) added 13 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Guelph in the defeat. Five Hamilton and four Guelph players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hamilton have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain second place with 4-1 record having just one point less than leader Fraser Valley. Guelph at the other side still closes the standings with three games lost. Hamilton will again play against Guelph (#6) on the road in the next round. Guelph will have a break next round.
