Regular Season Round 8: Swish - Riptide 76-71

There was no surprise in Oakland where 7th rankedRiptide (2-6) was defeated by fourth ranked Swish (5-3) 76-71 on Saturday. Swish forced 19 Riptide turnovers. They shot the lights out from three sinking 18 long-distance shots on high 56.3 percentage. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Swish made 8 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Angel Jackson (198-2001, college: Jackson St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 45 points (!!!), 10 rebounds and 5 blocks (on 15-of-16 shooting from the field) and guard Jada Lewis (175, college: SDSU) who added 21 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Four Swish players scored in double figures. Dellena Criner responded with 16 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Taylor Linzie (170, college: CS East Bay) scored 7 points and 17 rebounds. Swish have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Blaze. Loser Riptide dropped to the sixth position with six games lost. They share it with Reign.
