There was a minor upset in Berkeley where 5th rankedRoyals (2-5) were defeated by seventh ranked Riptide (2-5) 84-79 on Saturday. Riptide forced 19 Royals turnovers. Guard Abigail Cooper (175-2001, college: Dominican, CA, agency: Over the Screen) fired 31 points and 6 assists for the winners. Forward Taylor Linzie (170, college: CS East Bay) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds. Cooper is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Mali forward Salimatou Kourouma (180-1999, college: Oregon) produced 34 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 5 blocks and Miyu Mizukawa added 19 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Riptide moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Reign and Royals. Royals lost their third game in a row.
