Regular Season Round 14: Niagara - Edmonton 105-104

The most exciting game of round 14 in the CEBL took place in Niagara. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of second-ranked Stingers (11-7) to first ranked River Lions (12-5) 105-104 in the game for the first place. Niagara made 22-of-24 free shots (91.7 percent) during the game. American guard Khalil-Ullah Ahmad (191-1996, college: CS Fullerton) saved the victory by scoring 29 points and 9 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). Forward Nathan Cayo (201-1997, college: Richmond) contributed with 20 points for the winners. American guard Trey McGowens (190-2000, college: Nebraska) replied with 22 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists and Brody Clarke (203-1996, college: Alberta) added 18 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) in the effort for Edmonton. Five Edmonton players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. River Lions have an impressive five-game winning streak. Niagara maintains first position with 12-5 record. Edmonton lost third consecutive game. They keep the second place with seven games lost. Niagara are looking forward to face Brampton (#4) in Hamilton in the next round. Edmonton will play on the road against Saskatchewan in Saskatoon and is hoping to prove to their fans that they can break losing series.
