Regular Season Round 12: Sudbury F. - Lake Erie J. 141-127

Date: March 14, 2026
Rather expected game when 5th ranked Jackals (3-18) lost to second ranked Five (14-6) in Sudbury 127-141 on Saturday. Strangely Lake Erie outrebounded Sudbury F. 54-35 including a 19-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. Sudbury F. looked well-organized offensively handing out 34 assists comparing to just 18 passes made by Lake Erie's players. The winners were led by American guard Charlie Marquardt (193-1995, college: Molloy) who scored that evening 39 points (!!!) and guard Duane Notice (188-1994, college: S.Carolina, agency: Inception Sports) supported him with 24 points and 14 assists. Marquardt is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. Even a double-double of 22 points, 20 rebounds and 6 assists by American Dane Miller (203-1990, college: Rutgers) did not help to save the game for Lake Erie. His fellow American import swingman Joshua Dominguez (193-1995, college: Wingate) added 27 points and 8 rebounds. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Defending champion maintains second position with 14-6 record behind leader Newfoundland R. Lake Erie lost ninth consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with 18 games lost. Sudbury F. will meet at home league's leader KW Titans in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Lake Erie will play against Montreal T. (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
