Rather expected game in Montreal where 3rd placedToundra (13-6) was defeated by first ranked Five (13-6) 109-98 on Saturday. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Sudbury F. made 27-of-33 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for guard Duane Notice (188-1994, college: S.Carolina, agency: Inception Sports) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 8 rebounds and 10 assists. Antonio Davis (190-1996, college: Mid-Continent) helped adding 15 points and 7 rebounds. Five Five players scored in double figures. American swingman Kyle Steward (201-1995, college: UMKC) responded with 26 points and 7 rebounds and guard Shakur Daniel (198-1999, college: Tarleton St.) scored 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion maintains first place with 13-6 record, which they share with KW Titans and Montreal T. Sudbury F. will meet at home Lake Erie (#5) in the next round. Montreal T. will play against the league's second-placed Sudbury F. (#2) in Sudbury and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
