Important game to mention about took place in Lansing. Third rankedLondon Lightning (4-2) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging 5th ranked Pharaohs (3-2) 154-152 on Thursday evening. It was a key game for the top position in the league. London dominated down low during the game scoring 94 of its points in the paint compared to Pharaohs 's 72. London forced 23 Pontiac P. turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. Pontiac P. was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The game was dominated by American players. It was a good game for center Corey Boyd (206-1998) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds. Paul Parks (-1990) contributed with 31 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Boyd is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Point guard James Towns (178-1998, college: Niagara) replied with 42 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 9 assists (went 12 for 12 at the free throw line !!!) and guard Khalil Gracey (196, college: Rochester, MI) added 22 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Pontiac P.Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Pharaohs' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. London keeps a position of league leader, which they share with KW Titans. Pontiac P. at the other side dropped to the third place with two games lost. They share the position with Newfoundland R..
