The Santa Barbara Breakers suffered their first loss of the season Saturday, April 21 night to the Long Beach Rockets, 122-114. Down 18 entering the final period, the Breakers finally woke up and made a run. They cut the lead down to single digits with the help of 14 fourth quarter points from Arnette Hollis (6'5''-G/F-88). Unfortunately for Santa Barbara, the effort came too little too late. The best scorer for Santa Barbara was Stan Fletcher (6'4''-G-80, college: Moorpark CC), who finished with 36 points. Hollins also tallied 26 points. Veteran Tony Farmer (6'10''-F/C-70, college: Nebraska) controlled the boards for the Breakers, Chet Johnson (6'4''-F/G-81, college: CS San Bernar.) and Theron Laudermill (6'7''-F) were pivotal in the third quarter rally that allowed Long Beach to keep the lead in the score.
The Breakers resume play next Saturday against the High Desert Spartans
