Huntersville Hoopforlyfe came out looking fresh and firing on all cylinders at Lake Norman Charter, by scoring 19 points in the first three minutes of the game. BullCity Durham found themselves down by 15; only scoring four points before calling there first timeout to slow down the hot shooting by Huntersville Hoopforlyfe. After the timeout, BullCity still had trouble hitting open shots and stopping Huntersville Hoopforlyfe from behind the arc. By the end of the 2nd period, Huntersville Hoopforlyfe had a commanding lead, 60 to 48.
Starting off in the 3rd, BullCity called on their star players J'Mell Walters (led all scorers with 33 points and 5 assists) and Mark Jones (finished the game with 23 points and 10 rebounds) to put BullCity on their backs. J'Mell Walters started to heat up from behind the arc by hitting four quick 3's to tie the game 60 to 60. This forced the Huntersville Hoopforlyfe coach to call a timeout in order to come up with a way to slow J'Mell Walters down and keep Mark Jones off the boards.
When you have a team like Huntersville Hoopforlyfe who is led by their floor general Dijuan Harris (led all scorers with 34 points, 18 assists and 9 rebounds) that can break the opposing teams defense down by getting the ball to a superb scorer like Emilio Parks (finished the game with 32 points, 6 assists and 9 rebounds) and their Big Man Jamal Durham who also scores inside and outside the paint (Durham finished the game with 16 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists) it makes it very difficult to defeat a team like Huntersville Hoopforlye. Coming back into the start of the 3rd, BullCity went flat; but against a team like Huntersville Hoopforlyfe you cannot afford to lose focus. Huntersville's floor general, Dijuan Harris, took advantage and single-handedly dismantled BullCity's Team. By the end of the 3rd Huntersville Hoopforlyfe was up by 19; 87-68.
By the 4th, Huntersville Hoopforlyfe kept the pressure on BullCity by hitting a big time basket making it tough for Bullcity to stage a comeback. Huntersville closed the game 128 to BullCity 112. Huntersville Hoopforlyfe will be in action again Sunday, February 21st facing the Wilimington SeaDawgs on their home court in another epic rematch to determine who is the best: East or West?
