Simpson joins Kentucky Mavericks

Stan Simpson

Stan Simpson (6'10''-C-90, college: Memphis) has signed a contract to play for the Kentucky Mavericks for the remainder of the PBL Season. Simpson who had been playing in Europe, just returned to the USA after requesting be let out of his contract there. After an agreement had been finalized Simpson was free to go where he wanted to play. The Mavericks have been interested in Simpson for some time and jumped at the opportunity to sign the talented frontline player. Simpson helped lead his Lake Michigan Admirals to the Premier Basketball League Championship Finals last season. Simpson has played abroad in numerous locations. He played collegiately at the University of Memphis, John C. Logan Community College, and at the University of Illinois. Coming out of College he was drafted in the NBA D League Draft in 2013 by the Texas Legends.Simpson is originally from Chicago, IL. "We are very happy to add Stan to our Roster. He gives us another Big body up front, and he gives us a true rim protector" states MAVS Head Coach, Steve Tucker . Simpson will play against Washington this Sunday as the MAVS travel to Washington DC to play.
