August 20th, DFW Just Hoops and The Plainview Knights had their first game of the season against each other battling it out in Albuquerque, NM , in what was a 4-Team round robin for PBA Regular Season play at Paradise Hills Community Center. Just Hoops and Plainview would go down to the wire, with Just Hoops pulling out a tough win (88-84).
For DFW Just Hoops, Newcomer Nick McKenzie (6'3''-G-1997, college: Harris-Stowe St.) led the way with 34 points and led all players for both teams in scoring. Nick McKenzie also had 4 rebounds & 2 steals.
Nick McKenzie had an efficient performance shooting 14/21 TFG, 3/6 from three, and 3/5 FT.
Also for DFW Just Hoops, Steven McDonald (5'10''-PG, agency: PBAplayers Agency) had an all-around performance finishing with 16 points, 4 rebounds, 7 assist, 5 steals, & 1 block.
Steven McDonald ignited The Just Hoops defense ultimately helping DFW get the stops they needed to pull off the win. Offensively, Steven McDonald led all players for both teams in assist.
Steven McDonald shot 5/12 TFG, 2/5 from three, and 4/12 FT.
Cedric Harris (6'6''-G-1998, college: Centenary, LA) for DFW Just Hoops finished with a double-double with 14 points, 11 rebounds, 2 assist, & 2 steals. Cedric Harris led all players for both teams in rebounding.
Cedric Harris shot 6/14 TFG and 2/8 from three.
For The Plainview Knights, they were led by Levondre Carter (6'4''-F, college: Belhaven) who finished with 21 points, 3 rebounds, 5 assist, 1 steal, & 1 block doing everything he could for The Knights.
Levondre Carter shot 9/17 TFG and 3/10 from three.
Also for The Knights, Trillium Stubberfield finished with 12 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assist, & 3 steals.
Trillium Stubberfield shot 4/10 TFG.
DFW Just Hoops moves to (4-4) on the season with a win over Plainview and will play The Sante Fe Roadrunners and New Mexico Bluetails before heading back to Dallas/Ft Worth.
