Whitworth Crowned 2023 NWC Men's Basketball Tournament Champions; Earns AQ into NCAA Tournament-Feb 26, 2023
WALLA WALLA, WASH.- The Whitworth Pirates claimed the title of tournament champions in the final game of the NWC Men's Basketball Tournament. The Pirates earned 78 points in the final game against the #1 seed and NWC regular season champion Whitman's 65 points. Whitworth was the #3 seed entering the tournament with an 11-5 conference record and 16-9 overall record.

In the semifinals, Whitworth defeated the Puget Sound Loggers 70-51. The Whitman Blues defeated George Fox 86-64 to earn their spot in the finals.

The Whitworth Pirates earn the NWC Automatic Qualifier (AQ) to the NCAA tournament.
