Hamilton Wins First NESCAC Men's Basketball Championship-Feb 27, 2023
WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. - The second-seeded Hamilton Continentals captured their first NESCAC Men's Basketball Championship with a 71-59 win over No. 6 Colby at Chandler Gymnasium on the campus of Williams College.

Hamilton receives the NESCAC's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament and will learn its opponent on Monday at 1 p.m. when the NCAA Selection Show airs on NCAA.com.
Colby opened up an 11-point lead at the break. Will King (6'5''-G) scored 11 of his team-high 22 points in the first stanza and the Mules shot 50 percent from the field in the first 20 minutes to build the advantage.
The Continentals used a 16-3 run to open the second half and took a 39-38 lead at the 12:27 mark. Colby briefly regained the lead, but back-to-back jumpers by Teja Singh (6'3''-G) sparked a 16-6 spurt that allowed Hamilton to open up a nine-point advantage, 55-49, with just over five minutes remaining.
Hamilton continued to build its lead and held a 12-point edge with just over a 1:30 left and limited Colby to four points the rest of the way.
Hamilton finished the half outscoring the Mules 50-27 and shot 67.9 percent from the field over the final 20 minutes.
Conner Rood (6'5''-G) (12 points), Hank Morgan (6'5''-G) (12 points), Singh (10 points), and Eric Anderson (6'6''-G/F) (10 points) combined for 44 of the Continentals' 50 second-half points. Rood finished the game with a team-high 22 points on 10-for-16 shooting. Morgan chipped in 15 points and six rebounds, while Signh added 14 points.
Hamilton improves to 19-8 on the season while Colby falls to 20-7.
