The Washington Wizards have signed 20-year-old 7-0 center John Butler Jr., who previously played for the FSU college team. Butler was originally set to sign with the Portland Trail Blazers, but ended up joining the Wizards instead. Prior to that, he had a brief stint with another NBA team, also the Trail Blazers.
He's never been drafted by the NBA.
He played for Stockton Kings before and won the NBA G League Western Conference championship title in 2023.
In 2020, he was voted HoopSeen South Carolina Class 2-A All-State Junior of the Year.
He attended Florida State University until 2022, and this is his second season in professional basketball.
