Every week we bring you a list of the top former Rebels players who continue their career in pro basketball.
#1. Jemerrio Jones, a 31-year-old guard standing at 6'5'', is a former NM State graduate who had a stint playing at Hill JC from 2014 to 2016 before turning pro in Mexico. In a recent game in the Mexican Circuito de Baloncesto de la Costa del Pacifico, he played a pivotal role in leading his team, Frayles de Guasave, to an easy victory over the eighth-ranked Pioneros Los Mochis with a final score of 103-83 on Friday night.
During the game, Jones showcased his skills by scoring 10 points, grabbing 8 rebounds, and providing 2 assists in just 27 minutes of play. His remarkable performance on the court was instrumental in securing the win for his team, allowing them to emerge as the champion of the game.
Currently, Frayles de Guasave holds the second position in the league standings with a record of 23-17. Jones has been a consistent contributor throughout the season, averaging 6.6 points per game (ranking fourth in the league), 9.0 rebounds per game (ranking second in the league), 4.4 assists per game, and 1.8 steals per game (ranking fourth in the league). His impressive statistics highlight his valuable presence on the team and his significant impact on their success as they strive towards their goal of becoming the finalist in the league.
#2. Australian Luke Phillips, a 6'10'' power forward at 26 years old, boasts an impressive basketball background, having been an alumnus of the Warhawks in 2022 after playing at Hill JC from 2018 to 2019. Currently playing professionally in Australia, Phillips recently showcased his skills for the Perth Redbacks (4-6) in a challenging game last Saturday. Despite his stellar performance, where he emerged as the top scorer with 28 points and contributed 4 rebounds in 31 minutes of play, Phillips could not prevent the ninth-placed Perth Redbacks from suffering a 112-89 defeat on the road against the second-ranked Buccaneers in the West group.
In a standout game against the Geraldton Buccaneers, Phillips displayed his scoring prowess by putting up 28 points, securing 4 rebounds, and providing 1 assist. Despite his remarkable efforts, his team ultimately fell short in securing the victory. Throughout the season, Phillips has consistently delivered impressive individual performances, averaging 16.0 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game, solidifying his status as a notable player in the league.
#3. Canadian Jamal Fuller, a 6'5'' guard/forward who graduated from LIU Brooklyn in 2026 after playing at Hill JC between 2020 and 2022, showcased his skills on the court for the Saskatchewan Mamba (0-4) in their recent game. Despite Fuller's strong performance, the team was unable to secure a victory against the Shooting Stars in Toronto last Thursday, ultimately losing 107-103.
In the game, Fuller contributed significantly by scoring 18 points, grabbing 5 rebounds, and dishing out 3 assists in 28 minutes of play. Despite his efforts, the Saskatchewan Mamba faced a tough defeat. However, as it is still early in the season, there are opportunities for the team to bounce back and turn their record around.
Fuller also displayed an impressive performance in a previous game against Scarborough, where he once again scored 18 points, collected 5 rebounds, and provided 3 assists. Despite his consistent contributions, the team was unable to come out on top in that match as well.
Throughout the season, Fuller has maintained solid statistics, averaging 11.8 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game. As the season progresses, Fuller's skills and contributions may prove pivotal in helping the Saskatchewan Mamba improve their standing in the league.
#4. Canadian champion Emmanuel Bandoumel, a 6'4'' guard who is 28 years old and an alumnus of the Cornhuskers class of 2023, previously played at Hill JC between 2018 and 2019 where he earned an All-NTJCAC Second Team award. He currently plays professionally in Canada but was unable to assist the Edmonton Stingers (1-3) in their recent game last Sunday. Despite his strong individual performance, where he contributed 13 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists while making all of his five free throws in 28 minutes, the Edmonton team, ranked #3, was narrowly defeated 101-99 by the River Lions in Niagara.
Bandoumel has been showcasing his skills this season, averaging 7.8 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 1.3 steals per game. In the game against Niagara, he once again displayed his talent with 13 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists.
