We bring you last week's top former Trojans players who are currently playing in pro basketball.
#1. Javion May, a 26-year-old guard standing at 6'2", graduated from SHSU in 2023. Prior to that, he played for Colby CC from 2018 to 2020, where he played a pivotal role in helping them secure the KJCCC D1 West Division Champion title during his time there. Currently, May is playing professionally in the TBL.
In a recent game, May led the Kokomo Bobkats to a convincing 130-120 victory over the Grove City Whitetails. He showcased his versatility by achieving a triple-double, scoring 12 points, grabbing 14 rebounds, and distributing 11 assists in just 29 minutes of play. This exceptional performance contributed significantly to his team's success, marking their fourth consecutive win.
Despite the Kokomo Bobkats holding a somewhat modest 15-8 record this season, May's consistent contributions on the court have been noteworthy. His all-around performance has garnered attention, earning him the prestigious Triple-Double Badge from eurobasket.com, highlighting his excellence as a champion player.
Throughout the season, May has maintained solid statistics, averaging 11.3 points, 8.4 rebounds, 4.1 assists, and 2.0 steals per game. His impressive consistency and impactful presence on the court underscore his reputation as a standout player and a finalist in the league.
#2. Cortez Mosley, a 6'5'' guard/forward who is 24 years old and an alum of Lions from 2024, showcased his talent in a recent game for the 4 Bears Roar in the The Basketball League. Facing off against the struggling Mesa Monsoons, Mosley delivered an exceptional performance, contributing 11 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 assists in just 25 minutes of play. This impressive display helped lead his team to a convincing 115-93 victory in a highly anticipated derby match on Saturday night.
Despite the 4 Bears Roar holding a slightly underwhelming 21-1 record this season, Mosley's individual excellence has been a shining light. With an average of 16.7 points, 6.3 rebounds, 4.1 assists, and 1.3 steals per game, he has consistently demonstrated his skill and versatility on the court.
This win marked the 4 Bears Roar's 21st consecutive victory, highlighting the team's dominance as they approach the final stages of the regular season. With only two games remaining, each matchup becomes crucial for securing a strong position heading into the playoffs. Mosley's stellar performance against Mesa Monsoons not only secured a win for his team but also emphasized why he is a champion in the making.
