We bring you last week's top former Cougars players who are currently playing in pro basketball.

#1. Serbian basketball player Djordje Dimitrijevic, a 6'2'' guard who is 29 years old and graduated from Mercer in 2020, has been making waves in the Hungarian professional basketball scene. Despite playing for W. Nebraska from 2016 to 2018, where he notably helped them clinch the NJCAA D1 District IX Champion title, Dimitrijevic has now found success playing for Honved in Hungary. In a recent game against the second-ranked Alba, Dimitrijevic led his team to a 79-73 victory in the Hungarian Nemzeti Bajnoksag I/A league. His standout performance earned him the MVP title of the game, as he contributed 15 points in 31 minutes of play. This impressive display of skill further solidified his reputation as a champion on the court. Currently, Budapesti Honved SE holds the fourth position in the Play-Off group, with a record of 14-12. Dimitrijevic's consistent high-level performance throughout the season has been instrumental in his team's success. Against Alba, he not only scored 15 points but also secured 3 rebounds and provided 2 assists, showcasing his versatility and impact on the game. Throughout the season, Dimitrijevic has maintained impressive individual statistics, averaging 15.1 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 4.1 assists per game across 31 games played. His strong contributions both offensively and defensively have undoubtedly played a crucial role in his team's journey towards becoming finalists in the league.

#2. Vinnie Shahid, a 5'11'' point guard and 28-year-old Bison alumni from 2020, previously played for W. Nebraska between 2016 and 2018, where he helped them achieve the NJCAA D1 District IX Champion title during his time there. Currently, Shahid is playing professionally in Germany and recently joined HAKRO Merlins Crailsheim for his first season with the team. In a recent game against the Giessen 46ers, Shahid showcased his skills by scoring 13 points, grabbing 3 rebounds, and dishing out 2 assists. Despite his impressive individual performance, his team, the HAKRO Merlins Crailsheim, suffered a defeat with a score of 79-89 on the road against the lower-ranked (#7) 46ers. Shahid contributed 13 points in just 21 minutes of play during this game. Throughout the season, Shahid has maintained relatively good statistics, averaging 12.6 points, 1.5 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game over the 28 games he has played so far. While his efforts on the court have been notable, Shahid and his team aim to bounce back from their recent loss and continue their journey towards success in the league.

#3. Phil Fayne II, a 6'9'' center/forward who graduated from Illinois St. in 2019, has been playing professionally in Poland after a stint in W.Nebraska from 2015 to 2016. Despite his efforts, Fayne II could not lead Zastal BC Zielona Gora to victory against Wilki Morskie in the Polish Orlen Basket Liga. In a closely contested game, Zastal BC Zielona Gora was narrowly defeated 80-78 by the finalist Wilki Morskie, with Fayne II contributing 7 points and 2 blocks in just 18 minutes of play. In another game, Fayne II showcased his skills by scoring 7 points and grabbing 2 rebounds against King, yet his team still fell short of securing the win. Throughout this season, the champion has been averaging 7.3 points and 3.8 rebounds per game in 32 appearances. Fayne II, a naturalized American, continues to make valuable contributions to his team despite the challenging results on the court.

#4. Experienced Mexican player Raul Delgado, standing at 6'3'' and 34 years old, is a former Roadrunners alumnus from 2014. He previously played in W.Nebraska between 2010 and 2011 before turning professional in Mexico. Recently, Delgado was unable to lead Halcones de Ciudad Obregon (22-16) to victory against Pioneros Los Mochis (17-19) in the Mexican Circuito de Baloncesto de la Costa del Pacifico. Despite his efforts, Delgado only managed to score 3 points in 10 minutes during the game, which ended with a 103-110 loss for Halcones de Ciudad Obregon against the lower-ranked (#6) Pioneros in Los Mochis. As the Regular Season nears its end with just two games remaining, each match becomes crucial. Delgado's performance against Los Mochis, where he scored 3 points, highlighted his skills as a champion player. However, the game did not turn out as one of his best, with his team ultimately falling short and losing the match. Delgado's season average stands at 2.4 points per game across nine games played this year.

#5. In a thrilling Canadian Elite Basketball League matchup on Saturday night, Teddy Allen, a 6'6'' guard who graduated from NM State in 2022, showcased his skills by leading the Winnipeg Sea Bears to a narrow 77-75 victory over the Stingers. The 27-year-old, who previously played for W. Nebraska, made a significant impact in his debut game for the Sea Bears, earning the title of MVP. Allen's remarkable performance included a double-double with 24 points and 10 rebounds, along with 5 assists and 6 steals in 38 minutes of play. His contributions were crucial in securing the win for his team, who now hold a 1-0 record early in the season. Despite the early success, Allen remains focused and aware that there are many challenges ahead in the competitive league. In another impressive display against Edmonton, Allen once again proved his worth by scoring 24 points, grabbing 10 rebounds, and providing 5 assists. His exceptional play was pivotal in guiding the Sea Bears to victory, solidifying their position as the champion of the game. With Allen's talent and leadership, the Sea Bears are poised for a strong showing in the remainder of the season.

#6. Belgian basketball player Daniel Bula-Butupu-Mumbu, a 6'5'' point guard at 22 years old and a proud Cougars alumni from 2024, has been making waves in the professional basketball scene in Belgium. Recently, he played a crucial role in Liege's victory over the closely-ranked Guco Lier with a score of 91-77 in the Belgian Top Division I, the second division of Belgian basketball. In this game, Bula-Butupu-Mumbu displayed his talent by scoring 10 points and securing 2 rebounds in just 15 minutes on the court. His exceptional performance against Guco Lier not only showcased his scoring ability and tenacity but also demonstrated his value as a key player for his team. Bula-Butupu-Mumbu's contributions were instrumental in leading his team to victory that night, highlighting his potential as a champion player. Throughout this season, Bula-Butupu-Mumbu has maintained solid averages of 7.4 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game across 32 games. His consistent performance and dedication on the court have solidified his position as a standout player in the league.
