We bring you last week's top former Chargers players who are currently playing in pro basketball.
#1. Jayden Lockett, a 6'3'' point guard at 25 years old, graduated from Fisk in 2024. He previously played for Columbia St. between 2018 and 2020, where he contributed to their victory as the NJCAA D1 Appalachian District Champion. Currently, Lockett is playing professionally in the TBL. In the recent match, despite his outstanding performance, he could not lead the Little Rock Lightning to victory. The team, ranked fourth, suffered a 95-102 defeat on the road against the Ads Sentinels. Lockett emerged as the top scorer with 26 points and also secured 9 rebounds in 39 minutes of play, showcasing remarkable skill especially considering this is only his second season in professional basketball. This game marked the Lightning's fourth consecutive loss.
Throughout the season, Lockett has been excelling individually with impressive statistics. He maintains an average of 16.3 points per game, 4.7 rebounds per game, 2.2 assists per game, and 2.7 steals per game, which ranks him as the fourth-best in the league. Despite his remarkable contributions, the team has faced challenges in securing victories.
#2. Tavon King, a 5'11'' point guard and 28-year-old Bulldogs alumnus from 2022, showcased his skills in the recent game against the third-ranked Voluntari in the Romanian Liga Nationala Baschet de Masculin. Despite previously playing for Columbia St. between 2016 and 2018, King now competes professionally in Romania. In the game, he made a significant impact, contributing 6 points in just 10 minutes of play as his team, BC CSU Sibiu, secured an impressive 85-64 victory. This win marked their third consecutive triumph, positioning them in eighth place in the league as they head towards the end of the Regular Season. King's performance against Voluntari not only helped his team achieve success but also highlighted his importance as a key player in their quest to become champions. With solid season statistics of 12.5 points per game, 1.5 rebounds per game, and 2.3 assists per game in 22 appearances, King continues to be a valuable asset for his team. As they gear up for their final game, King's leadership and skills will be crucial in their pursuit of a championship title.
#3. Isaiah Crawley, a 6'7'' power forward aged 27, graduated from Georgia South in 2020 after playing for Columbia St. from 2016 to 2018 where he received the All-TCCAA First Team award. Currently, he is playing professionally in Russia for Dinamo Vladivostok. In their recent game, despite Crawley's strong performance, Dinamo Vladivostok was narrowly defeated 65-64 by the much lower-ranked Novosibirsk (#10) on their home court. Crawley showcased his skills by achieving a double-double with 20 points and 12 rebounds in 36 minutes of play. This season marks Crawley's debut with the team.
In the game against Novosibirsk, Crawley had an impressive stat line, contributing 20 points, 12 rebounds, and 2 assists. Despite his remarkable performance, his team fell short of victory. Nevertheless, his exceptional performance earned him the Triple-Double Badge from eurobasket.com, highlighting his capabilities as a champion player. Throughout the season, Crawley has been excelling individually with remarkable statistics. He leads the league with an average of 18.6 points per game, ranks second in rebounds with 8.5 per game, and also contributes 2.8 assists and 1.1 steals per game in the 30 games he has played so far.
