Every week we bring you a list of the top former Jaguars players who continue their career in pro basketball.
#1. Braxton Lovings (6'0''-PG-1999, played in 2019-21, plays pro in Ukraine) could not help Zaporizhye (7-0) in their game last Sunday. Despite his very good performance the league leader Zaporizhye was defeated 86-80 at home by the lower-ranked Kyiv Basket (#4).
Lovings was the top scorer with 20 points. He also added 4 rebounds and dished 3 assists in 37 minutes.
There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical.
It's Lovings' first season with the team.
Lovings has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages 16.8ppg, 3.8rpg, 4.0apg and 2.4spg.
#2. Jarrett Henderson (6'6''-F-1996, played in 2015-17, plays in Cyprus) led Etha to a victory against the closely-ranked APOEL (3-3) 98-94 in a derby game in the Cypriot ECOMMBX BL in Friday night's game.
He scored 19 points, had 6 rebounds and dished 3 assists.
It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Etha Engomis Nicosia (3-2) is placed third in the ECOMMBX BL.
It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row.
But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen.
Henderson has relatively good stats this year 13.8ppg, 6.0rpg and 2.2apg in six games he played so far.
#3. Akili Vining (6'2''-G-1999, played in 2018-19, currently in Israel) was not able to help Hapoel Altshuler Shaham Beer Sheva in their game against H.Gilboa Galil (3-1) in the Israeli Winner League.
Vining recorded only 4 points, 5 assists and 3 steals in 22 minutes.
Hapoel Altshuler Shaham Beer Sheva was defeated 90-81 on the road by the higher-ranked H.Gilboa Galil (#4).
But the season just started, so everything may happen.
This year Vining averages 3.5ppg, 2.0rpg, 4.5apg and 3.0spg.
#4. Nicholas Gazelas (6'4''-G, played in 2019-20, plays pro in Greece) was not able to secure a victory for the league outsider Ikaroi Trikala (0-7) in their last game. Despite Gazelas' very good performance the bottom-ranked Ikaroi Trikala lost 84-88 on their home court in Trikala to the second-ranked Megaridas.
He was the top scorer with 25 points. Gazelas also added 4 rebounds; quite an impressive performance considering it's only his second season in pro basketball. So far Ikaroi Trikala lost all seven games in the Regular Season.
But the season is still in its first stage and everything can happen.
It's Gazelas' first year with the team.
This season Gazelas averages 4.0ppg in seven games.
