EuroBasket Pro Knights Weekly Update

We bring you last week's top former Knights players who are currently playing in pro basketball.

   #1. Experienced Karol Gruszecki (6'6''-F/G-1989, played in 2009-11, plays pro in Poland) could not help Enea Abramczyk Astoria Bydgoszcz (2-3) in their game last Sunday. Despite his good performance Enea Abramczyk Astoria Bydgoszcz was defeated 85-74 on the road by the higher-ranked Lodz (#4). Gruszecki was the second best scorer with 14 points. He also added 4 rebounds and dished 5 assists in 30 minutes. But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen. Gruszecki has relatively good stats this year 13.7ppg, 3.4rpg, 2.1apg and 1.4spg.

   #2. Joe Ragland (6'0''-PG-1989, played in 2009-10, plays in Italy) was not able to help Treviso in their game against Trieste (2-3) in the Italian Serie A. He scored 8 points and added 14 assists. Treviso lost 100-107 at home to the higher-ranked (#9) Trieste. It was Treviso's fifth consecutive loss in a row. But the season just started, so everything may happen. It's Ragland's first year with the team. Ragland has relatively good stats this season 12.7ppg, 3.3rpg, 8.7apg and 1.7spg in six games he played so far. He is a naturalized Liberian.

   #3. Jesper Hallberg (6'8''-F-1995, played in 2023-24, currently in Sweden) was not able to secure a victory for Hogsbo (4-3) in their game against Koping Stars (2-8) in the Swedish Basketligan. Despite his good performance on Friday night He scored 10 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 27 minutes. But the season is still in its first stage and everything can happen. This season Hallberg averages 6.8ppg and 4.9rpg.

   #4. Wiktor Sewiol (6'6''-F-1997, played in 2013-17, plays pro in Poland) contributed to a KKS Polonia Warszawa's victory against the closely-ranked GKS (5-3) 87-80 in the Polish 1Liga (second division) on Friday night. He scored 6 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. KKS Polonia Warszawa (6-2) is placed third in the 1Liga. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. But the season is still in its first stage and everything can happen. This year Sewiol averages 8.8ppg, 9.0rpg, 2.0apg and 1.5spg in eight games.

   #5. Edgars Kaufmanis (6'4''-SG-1999, played in 2018-19, plays in Latvia) couldn't help Gulbenes Buki (4-1) in their game against Salaspils (6-0) in the Latvian RNBL (second division). He scored 7 points, grabbed 4 rebounds and dished 4 assists in 29 minutes. The fifth-placed Gulbenes Buki (4-1) was badly defeated95-78 on their home court in Riga by the leading Salaspils in the East group. It was Gulbenes Buki's first loss after four consecutive victories. But the season is still in its first stage and everything can happen. It's Kaufmanis' first year with the team. Kaufmanis has relatively good stats this season 13.6ppg, 5.2rpg and 1.6apg.

   #6. Timothy Simmons (6'5''-PF-1992, played in 2012-14, currently in El Salvador) was the major contributor in A.Lobos' victory against the league outsider Brujos crushing them 119-52 in the Salvadorean Liga MB (second division) last Tuesday. He had a double-double by scoring 15 points and getting 14 rebounds. Simmons also added 5 assists and 3 steals. He has relatively good stats this year 12.5ppg, 14.0rpg, 5.0apg and 2.0spg in two games.

   #7. Przemyslaw Zygmunciak (6'2''-G-2000, played in 2020-20, plays pro in Poland) led Tarn.Gory to an easy victory against the 11th-ranked Wawel Dragons crushing them 93-60 in the Polish 2Liga (third division) on Sunday night. He scored 16 points in 21 minutes. Zygmunciak has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages 19.0ppg, 2.6rpg, 2.4apg and 1.1spg.

Nikolas Tomsick (6'1''-PG-1991, played in 2010-12) plays for Gambusinos de Fresnillo in Mexican LNBP
Mike Amius (6'7''-C/F-1996, played in 2015-17) plays for Jacksonville 95ers in the TBL
Trevon Dennis (6'5''-F-2002, played in 2020-22) plays for Creating Young Minds in the TBL
