We bring you last week's top former Reivers players who are currently playing in pro basketball.
#1. Experienced Xavier Munford (6'4''-G-1992, played in 2011-12, plays pro in Israel) led Hapoel Holon to a victory against the league outsider Ironi Nes-Ziona (0-4) 82-70 in the Israeli Winner League in Friday night's game.
He recorded 13 points and added 6 passes in 33 minutes.
Hapoel Holon (3-0) is placed third in the Winner League.
So far his team won all three games in the Regular Season.
But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen.
It's Munford's first year with the team.
Munford has relatively good stats this season 14.0ppg, 2.3rpg and 2.7apg in three games he played so far.
#2. Josiah Strong (6'4''-G-1999, played in 2019-20, plays in Bosnia) contributed to Siroki's victory against the closely-ranked Leotar (3-2) 88-84 in the Bosnia and Herzegovina Division I last Friday.
Strong recorded 14 points and added 6 passes; quite an impressive performance considering it's only his second season in pro basketball. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. HKK Siroki Brijeg (4-0) is placed third in the Division I.
So far his team won all four games in the Regular Season.
But the season just started, so everything may happen.
Strong has relatively good stats this year 14.5ppg, 2.3rpg and 4.8apg.
#3. Alex Peacock (6'7''-PF-1997, played in 2015-17, currently in Ukraine) contributed to Krivbas' victory against the closely-ranked Hoverla (4-5) 82-68 in the Ukrainian Superleague on Saturday night.
Peacock scored 16 points and grabbed 9 rebounds in 37 minutes.
Krivbas Kryvyi Rih (4-5) is placed fifth in the Superleague.
It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row.
There are only four games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical.
Peacock has relatively good stats this year 13.9ppg, 7.0rpg, 1.4apg and 1.9spg in nine games.
#4. Shaun Doss (6'5''-G-1999, played in 2017-18, plays pro in Hungary) could not help OSE Lions (2-4) in their last game on Saturday. Despite Doss' good performance OSE Lions was defeated 83-69 on the road by the higher-ranked DEAC (#7).
He was the second best scorer with 14 points. Doss also added 8 rebounds and dished 3 assists.
But the season is still in its first stage and everything can happen.
It's Doss' first year with the team.
He has individually a very good season with high stats. Doss averages 18.3ppg, 3.8rpg, 1.7apg and 1.3spg.
#5. De'Quon Lake (6'10''-F/C-1997, played in 2015-17, plays in Kosovo) contributed to an easy victory against the closely-ranked Sigal Prishtina (3-1) 106-88 in the Kosovan Superliga last Saturday.
Lake recorded 15 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists in 20 minutes.
It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. KB Bashkimi Prizren (5-0) is placed first in the Superliga.
So far his team won all five games in the Regular Season.
They will play only one more game in the Regular Season. And now that game is very crucial.
It's Lake's first season with the team.
He has relatively good stats this year 12.5ppg, 6.0rpg and 1.5apg in four games.
#6. Kaleb Thornton (6'0''-PG-1999, played in 2019-20, currently in Saudi Arabia), who plays in the Saudi Arabian SBL was not able to help the league outsider Al Khaleej (0-7) in their last game on Monday. Despite Thornton's very good performance the bottom-ranked Al Khaleej was crushed103-75 at home by the much higher-ranked Al Nasr (#3).
He was the top scorer with 24 points. It was his first game for Al Khaleej this season.
#7. Bryce Fitzgerald (6'8''-F, played in 2019-20, plays pro in Albania) led Vllaznia to a victory over the ninth-ranked Elbasani crushing them 101-74 in the Albanian Superliga in Saturday night's game.
He was MVP of the game. Fitzgerald scored 24 points, grabbed 5 rebounds and made 2 blocks (was perfect 5-for-5 from the free throw line) in 21 minutes. It was his first game for Vllaznia this season.
#8. Marquel Beasley (6'5''-PF-1993, played in 2015-17, plays in United Kingdom) was not able to secure a victory for London Cavaliers in their game against Knights in the British BCB (second division).
Beasley recorded 8 points and grabbed 4 rebounds.
His team was badly defeated by 16 points 83-67.
This season he has very high stats. Beasley averages 16.8ppg, 5.0rpg, 3.0apg and 1.4spg.
