EuroBasket Pro Apaches Weekly Update

We bring you last week's top former Apaches players who are currently playing in pro basketball.

   #1. Kieffer Punter (6'5''-G-1999, played in 2018-20, plays pro in Cyprus) was the major contributor in Digenis' victory against the league outsider Paralimni (0-1) 87-84 in the Cypriot ECOMMBX BL on Sunday night. He recorded a double-double by scoring 20 points and getting 11 rebounds. Punter also added 5 assists in 42 minutes. It was his first game for Digenis this season; quite an impressive performance considering it's only his third season in pro basketball. His team is placed fifth in the ECOMMBX BL. But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen. It's Punter's first year with the team.

   #2. Experienced Jaron Johnson (6'5''-SF-1992, played in 2010-12, plays in Turkey). He could not help Onvo Buyukcekmece Basketbol (0-2) to beat Manisa (1-1) in the Turkish BSL. Johnson scored 6 points. Onvo Buyukcekmece Basketbol was badly defeated89-69 on the road by the higher-ranked (#12) Manisa. But the season just started, so everything may happen. This year Johnson averages 4.5ppg, 2.5rpg and 2.0apg in two games he played so far.

   #3. Shahada Wells (6'0''-SG-1999, played in 2018-20, currently in Greece) contributed to Psychikou's victory against the closely-ranked Dafni (0-1) 85-80 in a derby game in the Greek Elite League (second division) last Saturday. Wells recorded 9 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists in 32 minutes. It was his first game for Psychikou this season. His team is placed seventh in the Elite League. But the season is still in its first stage and everything can happen. It's Wells' first year with the team.

   #4. Eden Ewing (6'9''-F/C-1997, played in 2015-17, plays pro in Nicaragua) led Flecheros to a victory over the closely-ranked Costa Caribe (3-5) 89-70 in the Nicaraguan LSB on Saturday night. Ewing was MVP of the game. He had a double-double by scoring 22 points and getting 11 rebounds. Ewing also added 8 assists. Flecheros de Matagalpa (5-4) is placed third in the LSB. His team will play only one more game in the Regular Season. And that game will be critical. Ewing has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages 15.1ppg, 9.2rpg, 4.9apg and 1.4bpg in nine games.
