EuroBasket Pro Westerners Weekly Update

Here is the weekly review of the top performing Westerners alumni, who are currently playing in pro basketball.

   #1. Sergio El Darwich (6'5''-G-1996, played in 2017-18, plays pro in Lebanon) led Beirut Club to a victory over the closely-ranked Antonine (7-6) 84-71 in the Lebanese LBL in Tuesday night's game. He was MVP of the game. El Darwich scored 17 points, grabbed 4 boards, dished 7 assists and stole 3 balls (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) in 37 minutes. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Beirut Club (12-1) is placed second in the LBL. His team will play only one more game in the Regular Season. And that game will be critical. El Darwich has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages 20.7ppg, 6.5rpg, 5.1apg and 2.8spg in 13 games he played so far.

   #2. Experienced Andris Misters (6'5''-SG-1992, played in 2013-14, plays in Italy) could not help Omegna (23-14) in their last game on Saturday. Despite Misters' good performance the fifth-placed Omegna (23-14) was defeated 85-73 on the road by the lower-ranked Fidenza (#9) in the Group A. He recorded 10 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Misters' team will play only one more game in the Regular Season. And now that game is very crucial. This season Misters has very high stats. He averages 15.8ppg, 4.6rpg and 3.5apg.

   #3. Arseniy Semenov (6'7''-F-2000, played in 2016-20, currently in Russia) was the main contributor in a Khimki-Podmoskovye Moscow Region's victory against the closely-ranked Dynamo-MGTU (15-21) 68-51 in the Russian Higher League (third division) on Saturday night. Semenov was MVP of the game. He scored 17 points and had 3 steals in 24 minutes. Khimki-Podmoskovye Moscow Region (16-20) is placed sixth in the Higher League. It's Semenov's first season with the team. Semenov has relatively good stats this year 12.1ppg, 7.1rpg, 1.3apg and 1.3spg in 42 games.

   #4. Johnnie Jones III (6'4''-G-1999, played in 2017-19, plays pro in the TBL) was not able to help the San Antonio Clutch in their game against the Potawatomi Fire (10-1) in the TBL. His contribution was not very remarkable in Monday's game. Jones III scored only 2 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. The San Antonio Clutch (#4) was crushed108-66 in Shawnee by the Potawatomi Fire. So far Clutch lost all eleven games in the Regular Season. This season Jones III averages 4.3ppg, 3.8rpg and 1.4bpg.

   #5. Isaac Mushila (6'5''-F-1999, played in 2020-21, plays in Spain) was not able to secure a victory for Cordoba CB (12-14) in their game against Huelva CD (11-15) in the Spanish Segunda FEB (third division). He scored 5 points in 17 minutes. The tenth-placed Cordoba CB (12-14) lost 85-89 in Huelva to the lower-ranked (#11) Huelva CD in the West group. The Regular Season already ended. It's Mushila's first season with the team. This year Mushila averages 8.1ppg and 3.6rpg in 25 games.

Maurice Taylor (6'6''-F-1994, played in 2014-15) played for Rhode Island Kraken in the TBL last year
Xavier Ledet (6'4''-G-1995, played in 2014-16) played for 817 Diamonds in the TBA last year
Leland Kirkendoll (5'11''-PG-1999, played in 2018-20) played for ESL Camp in the Eurobasket S.League last year
