EuroBasket Pro Cavaliers Weekly Update

We bring you last week's top former Cavaliers players who are currently playing in pro basketball.

   #1. Experienced Anthony Young (6'7''-F-1989, played in 2008-10, plays pro in Mexico) could not help Zonkeys de Tijuana (1-3) in their last game. Despite his very good performance the bottom-ranked Zonkeys de Tijuana lost 81-91 on the road to the leading Astros. Young was the top scorer with 24 points. He also added 7 rebounds in 37 minutes. It was Zonkeys de Tijuana's third consecutive loss in a row. But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen. Young has relatively good stats this year 14.0ppg, 5.5rpg and 2.8apg in four games he played so far.

   #2. Simeon Lepichev (6'9''-F/C-1995, played in 2015-17, plays in Bulgaria) led Chernomorets to an easy victory against the closely-ranked Rilski (4-4) 87-72 in the Bulgarian NBL last Wednesday. Lepichev recorded a double-double by scoring 11 points and getting 10 rebounds. Chernomorets Burgas (14-9) is placed fourth in the NBL. It was his team's eighth consecutive victory in a row. This season Lepichev averages 9.9ppg, 5.8rpg, 1.6apg and 1.1spg.

   #3. Jawad Adekoya (6'6''-G-1994, played in 2013-14, currently in Nigeria), who plays in Nigeria was not able to help Kwara Falcons (0-3) in their last game. Despite his very good performance Kwara Falcons was badly defeated64-48 in Kigali by the leading REG. Adekoya was the top scorer with 15 points. He also added 4 rebounds in 30 minutes. So far Kwara Falcons lost all three games in the Regular Season. There are only two games left until the end of the Basketball Africa League Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Adekoya has relatively good stats this year 12.0ppg and 2.7rpg in three games. He is a naturalized British.

   #4. Sam Burt (6'7''-F-1994, played in 2013-14, plays pro in Iceland) was not able to secure a victory for Hrunamenn (9-16) in their last game on Friday. Despite Burt's very good performance Hrunamenn was defeated 101-94 in Akranes by the lower-ranked IA (#8). He was the second best scorer with 18 points. Burt also added 9 rebounds. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. Burt has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages 21.0ppg, 9.2rpg, 2.3apg and 2.0spg. Burt is a naturalized Hungarian. Worth to mention he played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him get the job in pro basketball.
