EuroBasket Pro Hawks Weekly Update

Here is the weekly review of the top performing Hawks alumni, who are currently playing in pro basketball.



   #1. Khapri Alston (6'5''-F-94, played in 2013-14, plays pro in Chile) could not help Club Deportivo Valdivia (20-12) in their last game. Despite his very good performance the second-placed Club Deportivo Valdivia (20-12) lost 72-81 on the road to the lower-ranked (#4) AB Ancud in the Conferencia Sur. Alston had a double-double by scoring 23 points and getting 14 rebounds. He also added and 3 steals in 36 minutes; quite an impressive performance considering it's only Alston's third season in pro basketball. It's Alston's first year with the team. He has individually a very good season with high stats. Alston averages 22.5ppg, 15.5rpg, 2.0apg and 1.9spg in 40 games he played so far.

   #2. Chima Moneke (6'6''-F-95, played in 2013-15, plays in France) led Denain ASC Voltaire to a surprising victory over the third-ranked Entente Orleans 45 (18-8) 78-70 in the French ProB (second division) last Saturday. Moneke was MVP of the game. He recorded 20 points and grabbed 8 rebounds; not bad, considering it's only Moneke's first season in pro basketball. Denain ASC Voltaire (8-18) is placed 15th in the ProB. Moneke has relatively good stats this season 13.6ppg, 6.4rpg, 1.6apg and 1.4spg.

   #3. Experienced Gjio Bain (6'11''-C-85, played in 2004-06, currently in Japan), who plays in the Japanese B League D3 was not able to help Kagoshima (1-5) in their last game. Despite his very good performance the bottom-ranked Kagoshima lost 74-78 in Tokyo to the higher-ranked (#3) Cinq Reves. Bain had a double-double by scoring 20 points and getting 11 rebounds in 36 minutes. It was Kagoshima's fourth consecutive loss in a row. Bain has relatively good stats this year 13.6ppg, 10.5rpg and 1.2bpg in 13 games.

   #4. K.J. Bluford (6'1''-G-93, played in 2011-13, plays pro in Spain) was not able to secure a victory for Quintanar (14-14) in their last game on Saturday. Despite his very good performance the eighth-placed Quintanar (14-14) was defeated 89-85 in Madrid by the higher-ranked Movistar Estudiantes B (#5) in the Group B. Bluford scored 17 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Bluford has relatively good stats this season 11.5ppg and 3.3rpg.

   #5. Cyrus Tate (6'8''-F/C-85, played in 2004-05, plays in Germany) couldn't help PS Karlsruhe Lions (16-14) in their last game. Despite Tate's good performance PS Karlsruhe Lions lost 77-88 on the opponent's court to the leading Chemnitz. He scored 10 points, grabbed 4 rebounds and made 2 blocks in 19 minutes. It was PS Karlsruhe Lions' first loss after three consecutive victories. This year Tate averages 7.4ppg and 3.7rpg in 31 games.

Earvin Perroni (6'5''-F-94, played in 2015-16) plays for Lorient in French NM1
Cameron Adderley (6'2''-G, played in 2010-11) plays for JD's Seafood Shockers in Bahamas NPBA
Anthony Woods (6'2''-G, played in 2013-14) played for Chicago Knights in the MBL few monts ago
