EuroBasket Pro Wranglers Weekly Update

We bring you last week's top former Wranglers players who are currently playing in pro basketball.

   #1. Joshia Gray (6'1''-PG-93, played in 2013-14, plays pro in South Korea) could not help one of league's weakest teams LG Sakers (30-24) in their last game. Despite his very good performance LG Sakers were crushed 111-86 on the road by the second-ranked ET Land Elephants. Gray was the second best scorer with 24 points. He also added 4 rebounds in 26 minutes; quite an impressive performance considering it's only Gray's third season in pro basketball. It was LG Sakers' first loss after four consecutive victories. It's Gray's first year with the team. He has individually a very good season with high stats. Gray averages 17.3ppg, 4.5rpg, 3.7apg and 1.6spg in 61 games he played so far.

   #2. Derrick Barden Jr. (6'5''-F/C-92, played in 2010-12, plays in France) led Saint Vallier Basket Drome to a victory over the tenth-ranked La Charite (2-10) 85-70 in the French NM1 (third division) last Saturday. Barden Jr. was MVP of the game. He recorded a double-double by scoring 19 points and getting 10 rebounds. Barden Jr. also added 4 assists (made all of his five free throws). Saint Vallier Basket Drome (6-6) is placed fifth in Places 1-10 group. It was his team's fifth consecutive victory in a row. It's Barden Jr.'s first season with the team. He has relatively good stats this year 13.8ppg, 5.4rpg, 1.2apg and 2.3spg.

   #3. Willie Conner (6'7''-F-93, played in 2014-15, currently in Australia), who plays in the Australian State League (second division) was not able to help Geraldton Buccaneers (4-1) in their last game. Despite his very good performance the second-placed Geraldton Buccaneers (4-1) lost 97-104 in Floreat to the lower-ranked (#8) Hawks in the SBL group. Conner was the top scorer with 21 points. He also added 4 assists in 27 minutes; not bad, considering it's only Conner's second season in pro basketball. But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen. Conner has relatively good stats this year 14.2ppg, 3.6rpg, 2.6apg and 2.6spg in five games.

   #4. Kadeem Coleby (6'9''-C/F-89, played in 2009-10, plays pro in Japan) was not able to secure a victory for Akita Northern Happinets (15-40) in their last game on Sunday. Despite his good performance the fifth-placed Akita Northern Happinets (15-40) were badly defeated 79-63 in Tokyo by the higher-ranked Toyota Alvark (#3) in the East group. Coleby was the second best scorer with 13 points. He also added 6 rebounds, 3 assists and made 2 blocks. Coleby has relatively good stats this season 12.9ppg, 8.6rpg, 1.4apg and 2.3bpg. Worth to mention Coleby played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him get the job in pro basketball.

   #5. Thomas Schoeps (6'2''-G-89, graduated '10, plays in Germany) couldn't help WSG Koenigs Wusterhausen (7-7) in their game against Stade (17-10) in the German Regionalliga (fourth division), despite his very good performance on Saturday night. He was the second best scorer with 17 points. Schoeps also added 4 rebounds in 35 minutes. But the third-placed WSG Koenigs Wusterhausen (7-7) lost 66-75 on the opponent's court to the lower-ranked (#4) Stade in the North group. His team will play only one more game in the Regular Season. And that game will be critical. Schoeps has relatively good stats this year 12.1ppg, 4.3rpg, 2.5apg and 1.6spg in 23 games.
