We bring you last week's top former Matadors players who are currently playing in pro basketball.

#1. Kenny Dawkins (5'9''-PG-87, graduated '09, plays pro in Brazil) could not help E.C. Pinheiros Sao Paolo (8-2) in their game last Saturday. Despite his very good performance the league leader E.C. Pinheiros Sao Paolo was defeated 81-77 on the road by the much lower-ranked Brasilia (#10). Dawkins was the second best scorer with 16 points. He also added made 7 passes and 3 steals in 26 minutes. Dawkins' team will play only one more game in the Regular Season. And that game will be critical. Dawkins has relatively good stats this season 10.9ppg, 3.1rpg, 3.5apg and 1.2spg.

#2. Renan Lenz (6'9''-F-90, played in 2010-12, plays in Brazil) was not able to help Paulistano/Unimed Sao Paolo (10-0) in their last game. Despite Lenz's very good performance the league leader Paulistano/Unimed Sao Paolo lost 86-93 in a derby game to the leading Vivo/Franca. He was the second best scorer with 15 points. Lenz also added 6 rebounds. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. It's Lenz's first season with the team. This year he averages 8.7ppg and 4.0rpg in 23 games he played so far.

#3. Lester Medford (5'10''-PG-93, played in 2011-12, currently in North Macedonia) led his North Macedonian team MZT Skopje to a victory against the closely-ranked Spars Sarajevo (16-6) 84-70 in the ABA League last Sunday. Medford scored 14 points and added 9 passes in 30 minutes; quite an impressive performance considering it's only his third season in pro basketball. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. KK MZT Skopje Aerodrom (15-7) is placed third in the ABA League. Medford has relatively good stats this season 12.3ppg, 4.6rpg, 7.3apg and 1.4spg.

#4. Daichi Taniguchi (6'7''-F/C-90, played in 2010-12, plays pro in Japan) was not able to secure a victory for Akita Northern Happinets (15-33) in their game against Chiba Jets (41-7) in the Japanese B League. Taniguchi scored 5 points. The fifth-placed Akita Northern Happinets (15-33) were crushed 88-64 in Chiba by the leading Jets in the East group. It was Akita Northern Happinets' third consecutive loss in a row. It's Taniguchi's fourth season with the team. This year he averages 3.3ppg and 1.3rpg in 45 games.

#5. Yukijiro Yashiro (5'9''-PG-92, played in 2011-12, plays in Japan) couldn't help Ehime Orange Vikings (18-32) in their game against Kumamoto Volters (36-14) in the Japanese B2 League. Yashiro did not have that impressive stats last Saturday. He scored only 2 points in 8 minutes on the court. The fourth-placed Ehime Orange Vikings (18-32) were crushed 106-83 in Kumamoto by the second-ranked Volters in the West group. It was Ehime Orange Vikings' fourth consecutive loss in a row. This season Yashiro averages 1.7ppg and 1.1rpg.
