EuroBasket Pro Cougars Weekly Update

Every week we bring you a list of the top former Cougars players who continue their career in pro basketball.



   #1. Stefan Andelkovic (6'8''-F-94, graduated '17, plays pro in Portugal) led Maia Basket Clube to a victory over the seventh-ranked Sampaense (12-11) crushing them 104-83 in the Portuguese Proliga (second division) on Saturday night. He was MVP of the game. Andelkovic scored 27 points (!!!) and grabbed 9 rebounds in 34 minutes; quite an impressive performance considering it's only his second season in pro basketball. Maia Basket Clube (16-7) is placed third in Group A. It's Andelkovic's first year with the team. Andelkovic has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages 21.6ppg and 8.3rpg.

   #2. Danny Agbelese (6'9''-F/C-90, played in 2008-10, plays in Greece). Agbelese could not help Holargos (8-11) to beat Promitheas (13-6) in the Greek A1. He recorded 6 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Holargos was crushed 86-61 on the road by the higher-ranked (#4) Promitheas. It was Holargos' fourth consecutive loss in a row. It's Agbelese's first season with the team. This year Agbelese averages 8.2ppg, 7.2rpg and 1.8bpg in 18 games he played so far. He is a naturalized Nigerian.

   #3. Liam O'Reilly (6'2''-G, played in 2014-16, currently in Slovakia), who plays in the Slovakian SBL was not able to help Rieker KN (12-17) in their game last Saturday. Despite his good performance Rieker KN was defeated 83-71 on the opponent's court by the higher-ranked Prievidza (#4). O'Reilly was the second best scorer with 13 points. He also added 4 rebounds in 28 minutes. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. O'Reilly has relatively good stats this season 12.6ppg, 3.4rpg and 3.0apg.

   #4. Gilberto Clavell (6'7''-F-89, played in 2007-09, plays pro in Puerto Rico) was not able to secure a victory for Santeros de Aguada (1-1) in their game against Piratas (4-1) in the Puerto Rican BSN. Clavell scored 5 points. Santeros de Aguada was edged 83-82 in Quebradillas by the higher-ranked (#3) Piratas. But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen. This year Clavell averages 8.0ppg and 1.3rpg in three games.

   #5. Cameron Coleman (6'6''-SF, graduated '17, plays in Argentina) was the main contributor in a Centro Deportivo Rivadavia de Mendoza's victory against the sixth-ranked Petrolero (12-19) crushing them 78-52 in the Argentinian La Liga Argentina (second division) in Friday night's game. He was MVP of the game. Coleman recorded 20 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in a mere 19 minutes. It was his first game for Centro Deportivo Rivadavia de Mendoza this season; not bad, considering it's only his second season in pro basketball. His team is placed fourth in South - South group.

   #6. David Samuels (6'8''-F/C-91, played in 2011-13, currently in Spain) couldn't help Estela in their game against Girona Basquet in the Spanish LEB Silver (third division). He scored 6 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. His team was edged 66-63. This year Samuels averages 9.1ppg and 7.4rpg in seven games. He is a naturalized Jamaican.

   #7. Filip Stanic (6'5''-F-90, graduated '13, plays pro in Croatia) couldn't help one of league's weakest teams Zaprude in their game against Universitas in the Croatian Prva Liga (second division). Despite his very good performance last Saturday He recorded a double-double by scoring 13 points and getting 10 rebounds. Stanic also added 3 assists in 36 minutes. Stanic has relatively good stats this season 13.6ppg, 4.8rpg, 2.6apg and 1.2spg.
