EuroBasket Pro 49ers Weekly Update

We bring you last week's top former 49ers players who are currently playing in pro basketball.



   #1. Christopher Smith (6'4''-G-94, played in 2012-14, plays pro in Belgium) could not help Basic-Fit Brussels (13-5) in their last game. Despite his good performance Basic-Fit Brussels lost 80-89 on the road to the lower-ranked (#7) Spirou Charleroi. Smith scored 14 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 28 minutes; quite an impressive performance considering it's only his third season in pro basketball. It's Smith's first year with the team. Smith has relatively good stats this season 12.2ppg, 3.4rpg and 1.6apg in 17 games he played so far.

   #2. Milos Milosevic (6'7''-F-89, played in 2008-09, plays in Montenegro) led Jedinstvo to a victory against the closely-ranked Sutjeska (10-4) 78-70 in the Montenegrin Erste Liga last Saturday. Milosevic recorded a double-double by scoring 14 points and getting 13 rebounds. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. KK Jedinstvo Bijelo Polje (8-5) is placed fourth in the Erste Liga. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Milosevic has relatively good stats this season 13.5ppg and 11.0rpg.

   #3. Experienced Solomon Mercado (6'1''-PG-84, graduated '07, currently in Philippines) was not able to help one of league's weakest teams Ginebra Kings in their game against Alaska Aces (3-2) in the Filipino PBA. It was not his best game last Sunday. Mercado scored only 2 points and added 3 assists in 18 minutes. Ginebra Kings were crushed 104-78 in Makati by the higher-ranked (#6) Alaska Aces. There are only four games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. It's Mercado's fourth season with the team. This year he averages 4.7ppg, 2.7rpg and 2.0apg in six games.

   #4. Emanuel Malou (6'9''-C-93, played in 2014-16, plays pro in Thailand) was not able to secure a victory for one of league's weakest teams one of league's weakest teams Kabayan (3-1) in their game against Hitech (4-0) in the Thailand TBSL. Despite his very good performance in Sunday night's game Malou was the second best scorer with 25 points. He also added 7 rebounds and 4 assists. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be important. Malou has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages 22.3ppg, 9.8rpg and 3.8apg.

Sean Harris (6'7''-F, played in 2011-12) played for Teguise in Spanish 1Div. last year
Mike McChristian (6'2''-G-91, played in 2010-11) plays for Team Trouble in the ABA
