Traditionally, every week we bring you a list of the top former Sharks players who continue their career in pro basketball.
#1. Trevor Mbakwe (6'10''-C/F-89, played in 2008-09, plays pro in Japan) could not help Osaka Evessa (15-25) in their game last Sunday. Despite his very good performance the fourth-placed Osaka Evessa (15-25) was crushed 100-72 on the road by the lower-ranked Toyama Grouses (#4) in the West group.
Mbakwe recorded a double-double by scoring 16 points and getting 10 rebounds. He also added 3 assists in 29 minutes.
This season Mbakwe averages 9.4ppg, 7.4rpg and 2.3apg.
He is a naturalized Nigerian.
#2. Christian Pizarro (G-95, graduated '15, plays in Puerto Rico) contributed to a 1-point Capitanes de Arecibo's victory against the closely-ranked Leones (0-3) 94-93 in the Liga Americas in Sunday night's game.
He scored 8 points and added 9 passes.
It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Capitanes de Arecibo (2-1) is placed second in the Liga Americas.
The Regular Season already ended in the Liga Americas.
This year Pizarro averages 6.3ppg, 3.0rpg, 5.7apg and 2.3spg in three games he played so far.
#3. Elio Corazza (6'4''-PG-89, graduated '10, currently in Brazil) contributed to an easy victory against the sixth-ranked Minas (9-12) 103-86 in the Brazilian NBB last Saturday.
He scored 7 points, had 4 rebounds and dished 8 assists in 26 minutes.
SESI-SP/Franca Basquete Sao Paulo (3-7) is placed first in the NBB.
It's Corazza's first season with the team.
This year Corazza averages 6.8ppg, 3.5rpg and 5.1apg.
#4. Darnell Dodson (6'7''-F-89, played in 2008-09, plays pro in Argentina) contributed to a 2-point Comunicaciones' victory against the 16th-ranked Penarol (5-11) 78-76 in the Argentinian La Liga on Sunday night.
He recorded 7 points.
Comunicaciones Mercedes (8-9) is placed 12th in the La Liga.
This year Dodson averages 8.5ppg and 4.9rpg in 10 games.
#5. Julien Sargent (6'11''-C-91, played in 2009-10, plays in Spain) led Rivas to an easy victory against the 16th-ranked Liceo Frances (4-15) crushing them 88-47 in the Spanish EBA (fourth division) in Saturday night's game.
Sargent recorded a double-double by scoring 13 points and getting 14 rebounds in 28 minutes.
Uros de Rivas Aticon (9-10) is placed eighth in Group B.
It's Sargent's first season with the team.
This year he averages 8.8ppg and 8.6rpg.
#6. Joe Mvuezolo (6'6''-F-96, played in 2014-16, currently in United Kingdom) contributed to an easy victory against the seventh-ranked Sheffield Sharks crushing them 90-69 in the British BBL last Sunday.
He recorded 8 points and grabbed 5 rebounds.
This year Mvuezolo averages 5.3ppg and 1.8rpg in four games.
