The Independent Basketball Association opened its 2016 Spring Season on Saturday night in Kenosha. With a supportive home crowd the Kenosha Ballers defeated rival and 6-time IBA champion Kankakee County Soldiers in dominating fashion, 125-90.
Sporting a veteran roster, the Ballers were led by Devron Bostick (6'5''-G-88, college: Minnesota) with 25 points. Tyray Petty (6'4''-G-88, college: Utah Valley) scored 23 points while adding five rebounds and three assists as Kenosha shot 65% (30 of 46) from the field inside the three-point line. The Ballers also hit 18 threes while Kankakee went 0-for-8 from behind the arc.
Other offensive leaders for Kenosha were Thomas Cobbs (6'4''-G) (16 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, 4 steals), Quiande Moore (6'3''-G) (12 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists) and Dionte Dolly (5'8''-G) (12 points, 4 rebounds, 8 assists).
Kankakee were led by Zavion Neely (6'1''-G-90, college: Cumberlands) with 20 points. Marcus Jackson (6'6''-F, college: Bened.-Springfield) scored 18 while adding eight rebounds.
