Alabama lands commitment from coveted women's basketball prospect Tianna Chambers

Top 2025 women’s basketball prospect Tianna Chambers of Englewood (Colorado) Cherry Creek High School committed to Alabama, she announced on Monday. Chambers, a 6-foot-1 small forward, chose the Crimson Tide over Mississippi State – the other program in her final two that was announced a few weeks ago. Tianna Chambers also held offers from programs like Iowa, Marquette, North Carolina, Utah, NC State and numerous others. However, Chambers ultimately chose the Crimson Tide after taking an official visit to Tuscaloosa on June 5. Chambers joins Ace Austin, a 5-foot-6 in-state point guard, in Alabama’s 2025 recruiting class. Chambers tore her ACL during her junior season but was Cherry Creek’s leading scorer prior to the injury. She averaged 16 points, 3.4 rebounds and two steals last season. Tianna Chambers was originally a high-level soccer prospect before deciding to pursue basketball in college. She told local reporters that basketball was her first love. “When I’m at soccer, I’m sad [that] I’m not at basketball, and when I’m at basketball I’m sad [that] I’m not at soccer,” Chambers told the Union Street Journal. “I love them both equally. But I decided that I’m going to do my own thing and play the sport that I love.” Even with the injury this season, Chambers was named second-team all-state by the Denver Post and other publications. Chambers rates as a four-star prospect, according to ESPN. On3 unveiled its women’s basketball rankings recently, but Chambers is not currently ranked inside the top 25 in the country. However, she’s widely considered one of the country’s elite prospects in the Class of 2025.
