Coach Diane Richardson picked up a commitment from the second-leading high school scorer in the entire nation in the Class of 2024 on Monday as 5-7 guard Adena Webster of Archbishop Carroll High School in Miami, Fla., announced on social media that she would be joining the Owls. Webster averaged 34.4 points per game last season, which ranked eighth nationally and second among high school juniors. Webster opened the season with scoring efforts of 41 points, 51 points, and 45 points, and barely slowed down from there. She also averaged 12.5 rebounds and 5.0 steals per game. Webster was named First Team All-Dade County by Miami-Dade Basketball and Second Team All-Dade County by the Miami Herald. As a sophomore, she earned Third Team All-County recognition after averaging 16.4 points and 6.4 rebounds per game at Monsignor Pace High School. Webster starred at the junior level in The Bahamas before coming to play high school basketball in Miami. In 2019 and 2020, she led the T.A. Thompson Scorpions to the secondary schools championship, winning MVP in the 2020 championship series. Webster played for Central Florida Elite on the adidas 3SSB circuit last summer. She is the first high school prospect to commit to the Owls from the Class of 2024. The nation's top returning scorer in the Class of 2024 is Devyn Quigley of Manchester Township (N.J.) High School, who averaged 34.9 points per game last season.
