Illinois women's basketball recruiting is rolling now. Class of 2024 Pickerington (Ohio) Central wing Berry Wallace, rated a four-star prospect by ESPN HoopGurlz, committed to Illinois on Saturday, the 6-foot-1 wing announced on social media. Wallace is the second commitment in the Illini's Class of 2024, joining Frankfort (Ill.) Lincoln-Way East center Hayven Smith, who committed to Illinois earlier this week. Shauna Green has changed the perception of Illinois women's basketball in one year and is significantly upgrading the talent pool. Following an NCAA Tournament berth, the Illini's first in 20 years, during her first year, Green has had a great offseason so far. She stole away assistant coach Britney Anderson from Hall of Fame coach Tara VanDerveer's Stanford staff and landed NC State transfer post Camille Hobby, a proven high-major post player, and Duke transfer forward Shay Bollin, a former top-50 prospect. This week, she get her first commitment from an in-state prospect (Hayven Smith) and now lands another high-major prospect in Wallace.
