Paul VI's Hannah Hidalgo put on a show on the national stage. Hidalgo, a Notre Dame signee, set the McDonald's All-American girls game scoring record by scoring a game-high 26 points on the way to earning co-MVP honors on Tuesday in Houston. Hidalgo, an NJ.com First Team All-State selection, was her brilliant self in the contest for the East squad that ended up on the losing end, 110-102 to the West, in a wildly entertaining contest. Hidalgo was part of the entertainment, showcasing her array of skills on both ends of the floor. She also recorded eight steals, which tied the game's record. Hidalgo also dished out five assists, and shared MVP honors with USC signee JuJu Watkins, who scored 25 points for the West. St. John Vianney's Zoe Brooks, the NJ.com Player of the Year and NC State signee, didn't play in the game as she continues to rehab from a torn plantar fascia in her left foot.
