ESPN aired the 2023 class of McDonald's All-Americans on Tuesday, and now we'll break down the East and West rosters. Four of the 12 players on the West roster are from California, and two of those four are from La Jolla Country Day.
West
KK Arnold, Germantown (Wisconsin)
Arnold is as consistent as they come, as the reigning Wisconsin Gatorade Player of the Year is putting up nearly identical stats compared with her junior season. The 5-foot-9 UConn commit recently put up 27 points, 14 rebounds and 14 assists in a game and is averaging 23.6, 6.8 and 7.4 this season, respectively.
Sofia Bell, Jesuit (Oregon)
Bell filled up the stat sheet last week with 27 points, five rebounds, five assists and a pair of steals in a 67-39 victory over Jefferson. Bell, a four-star Oregon signee, is averaging 19.5 points, 4.6 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 3.6 steals as a senior.
Madison Booker, Germantown (Mississippi)
Booker averaged 16.6 points, 7.6 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 2.1 steals in 28 games last season, leading Germantown to the state semifinals. The five-star, 6-foot-1 wing has been even better this year, averaging 19 points, 7.8 rebounds, three assists and 2.6 steals per game.
Addy Brown, Derby (Kansas)
A 6-foot-3 forward who can play anywhere from the point to the post if needed, Brown is averaging 20.2 points, 10.1 rebounds and four assists per game this season. She's committed to play for Iowa State next season.
Breya Cunningham, La Jolla Country Day (California)
One of the most dominant post players in the country, Cunningham will be playing for Arizona next season. Few can match the 6-foot-4 center's strength inside, and she's averaging 19.1 points, 10 rebounds and 2.9 blocks playing one of the toughest schedules in the country.
Kymora Johnson, Saint Anne's-Belfield (Virginia)
The defending Virginia Gatorade Player of the Year has been a double-figures scorer at the varsity level since she was an eighth-grader. She's committed to stay close to home and play for Virginia next season.
Tessa Johnson, Saint Michael Albertville (Minnesota)
Johnson is averaging 23.8 points per game this season, including a 51-point game against a very good Chaska team, breaking the St. Michael-Albertville record for points in a game. The 5-foot-10 guard will be joining South Carolina's star-studded freshman class next season.
Amanda Muse, Heritage (California)
A Brentwood native, Muse is staying close to home after signing with UCLA. The 6-foot-4 post averaged 17.1 points, 10 rebounds and 4.2 blocks in an abbreviated junior year and eclipsed 1,000 career points this year. Muse and her family have several close ties to the UCLA basketball program.
Juju Watkins, Sierra Canyon (California)
Watkins can do it all at both ends of the court for national No. 1 Sierra Canyon. The USC signee has been a human highlight reel all season, but she was at her best on her future home floor, USC's Galen Center, in putting up 30 points in a win over then-national No. 7 La Jolla Country Day.
Jada Williams, La Jolla Country Day (California)
Williams is one half of possibly the best inside-outside combo in the country with Breya Cunningham. The 5-foot-8 floor general is averaging 11 points and 4.8 assists per game this season and will continue playing with Cunningham at Arizona next season.
Mikaylah Williams, Parkway (Louisiana)
The defending Louisiana Gatorade Player of the Year was a finalist for the national award as a junior. The 6-foot-1 guard recently eclipsed 2,000 points in her high school career and will stay in-state to play for LSU next season.
Sahara Williams, Waterloo West (Iowa)
A versatile 5-11 wing, Williams has committed to play for Oklahoma next season. She's averaging 20.6 points, 10.8 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 3.5 steals per game this season for the top-ranked and unbeaten Warhawks.
East
Zoe Brooks, St. John Vianney (New Jersey)
Brooks made national headlines when she teamed up with Sabrina Ionescu to win the WNBA Skills Challenge during All-Star Weekend in July, and the NC State commit has been tearing it up in her final year of high school basketball. One of the best passers in the country, Brooks can score from anywhere on the court but is quick to move the ball to a teammate who has the easiest look.
Essence Cody, Valdosta (Georgia)
Cody is one of the toughest post players in the country, using her 6-foot-4 frame to grab 12.3 rebounds per game this season, her third straight averaging double figures in rebounds. She's averaging 17.9 points per game and will be playing for Alabama next season.
Aalyah Del Rosario, The Webb School (Tennessee)
Del Rosario is the bigger of Webb's twin towers at 6-foot-5, and she has the game to match. Despite her size, Del Rosario can handle the ball like a guard, but with teammate Angelica Velez on her side, she rarely has to. Those two will head to LSU together next year after trying to lead Webb to back-to-back state championships.
Jadyn Donovan, Sidwell Friends (Washington, D.C.)
Donovan is the team leader for one of the best squads in the nation, helping Sidwell Friends knock off No. 5 Montverde Academy (Florida), No. 10 Duncanville (Texas), No. 11 Lone Peak (Utah), No. 22 Paul VI (Virginia) and beating No. 18 Bishop McNamara (Maryland) twice.'She does so many different things on the court. I'm more proud of her leadership by example,' Quakers coach Tamika Dudley said of the Duke commit.
MiLaysia Fulwiley, Keenan (South Carolina)
Fulwiley has been on South Carolina coach Dawn Staley's radar since seventh grade, and the point guard committed to the Gamecocks this season. The 5-foot-7 dynamo went over 2,000 points for her career as a junior and is averaging 28.6 points, 10 rebounds, 5.7 assists and 5.5 steals per game this season. She'll try to lead Keenan to four straight state titles this postseason.
Hannah Hidalgo, Paul VI (New Jersey)
Hidalgo has been stuffing the stat sheet all season in her final year of high school basketball, averaging 31.4 points, eight steals, 6.2 rebounds and 4.7 assists per game. The versatile point guard will be playing for Notre Dame next season.
Riley Nelson, Bullis (Maryland)
Nelson transferred from Clarkston in the offseason and hasn't missed a beat playing for Bullis. The Maryland commit is averaging 16.2 points and 11.7 rebounds per game and put up 35 earlier this month against Georgetown Visitation.
Courtney Ogden, Westminster (Georgia)
Ogden has been remarkably consistent since her freshman year, averaging a double-double or nearly a double-double in all four years. This season she's putting up 21.8 points and 9.3 rebounds per game and will be a member of the Stanford Cardinal next season.
Laila Reynolds, Shabach Christian Academy (Maryland)
A Florida commit, Reynolds is a 6-foot-1 guard who can score from anywhere on the court. She helped lead Shabach Christian Academy to the GEICO National Championship game last season.
Emma Risch, Palm Bay (Florida)
Considered by many to be the best girls basketball player to ever come from Florida's Space Coast, Risch is averaging 24.3 points, 7.5 rebounds and 4.7 assists this season. The 6-foot-2 five-star guard has committed to play for Notre Dame next season.
Taliah Scott, St. Johns Country Day (Florida)
Scott is widely considered the best girls high school basketball player ever to come out of Northeast Florida, and she'll be taking her prodigious scoring talents to Arkansas next season. The 5-foot-9 guard is among the nation's unofficial scoring leaders at 37.4 points per game.
Ashlynn Shade, La Lumiere (Indiana)
Shade recently eclipsed 2,000 career points in high school, and she had a 44-point game this season against The Webb School (Tennessee). The 5-foot-10 guard will be taking her talents to UConn next season.
