The Fayetteville Panthers returned to action traveling to Rocky Mount, NC to play against the Carolina Chosen Lions after having last week off. The question for the Panthers was will they keep their winning streak alive and make it 6 in-a-row? The answer was a resounding yes as they came away with a 165-117 win, with all 8 players scoring in double figures. LaMichael Smith (6'0''-PG) led the way with 38 points, 8 rebounds, 8 assists, 3 steals, shooting 57.1% from beyond the arc, and knocking down 12 three pointers. Other Top performers for the Panthers included Shyheid Petteway (6'2''-G-1994, college: ECSU) with a double double of 29 points 10 rebounds, while Bryan Calloway (6'0''-PG-1989, college: Cent.Carolina) and Lebrone Woodbury (6'1''-G) both added 24pts and a combined 15 rebounds. Sitting at 8-3 overall and at 7-2 in conference play with three regular season games remaining, the Panthers finish the season with a three game home stand against three strong teams in the Winston Salem Wolves (8-3), DC Heat (8-2), and Rowan County (7-4). The Panthers hold their fate in their own hands and have a shot to finish as the Northern Conference and leagues top overall seed with three wins. They have this week off as they prepare for the first of these three games on May 11th at Berean Baptist Academy in Fayetteville as they take on Winston Salem at 5:00pm.
